Just Me

Just Me

WELCOME

Hi,

Welcome to "Tidbits from a Broad." My name is Kim and I am the broad.

I hope that you will enjoy my blog and that you will share "Tidbits" of your life! I would love to hear about your trials and tribulations of being a parent and/or working woman. Please share your hopes, your dreams, your sorrows, and most of all....your happiness!

I design private aircraft but my hobbies are cooking, photography, and scrapbooking. I love reading and I also enjoy the thrill of trying to make little video clips! Let me know if any of you share the same hobbies.

Our family has a history of heart disease and more recently breast cancer...so feel free to share those subjects as well. We lost our sweet Father to heart disease December 29, 2006 and my youngest sister is a 8 year breast cancer survivor...I recently had a prophylactic mastectomy to prevent breast cancer. I travel to unusual places and have tons of stories about the unusual people I've met...

Join me and share the journey! You can also find me as a Co-Admin. of the Facebook site called, Prophylactic Mastectomy and the Co-Founder of the My Destiny Foundation!

Look forward to hearing from you.

Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Kim

A day in the life of..... ME

Meet "PATCHES". She is the resident cat at the Marriott Residence Inn, Sea World in San Antonio.

We have "lived" here since January of this year (2012)!

During that time, we have witnessed her being pregnant and giving birth to two sets of kittens. Although she lives here, the hotel does not feed her or take care of her. She has lived strictly from the kindness of long term "residents" like ourselves, who've realized that she was starving. We're sure that people who only stay a day or two don't realize this. We couldn't stand to see her literally starving to death so we went to Walmart and bought food and water bowls and have been feeding her twice a day for months. She has become Ralphie's kitty and she runs to him every time he walks out of the door. Oh.... what to do? Is this our new pet? Oh Lordy Me.

I took this photo inside one of the planes we are working on here. We are flying and this is an image taken of the top of the airplane we are in while we are flying through the air! The camera is mounted on the tail. Is this cool or what?!!!!!! I am standing inside... just over the wings. Can you see me?

Just kidding!  : )

This is me at the end of the day. We've been flying for 11 hours. I have been "squawking" the interior. Part of my job is to make a list of every single tiny little defect I see in the new interior. Every system is checked, every square inch is checked, every single item that is not 100% is noted.

When the aircraft lands, the list is typed up and categorized by department such as upholstery, engineering, cabinet shop, etc. Men and women are assigned to correcting each "squawk" and then re-present them to us for "buy off". When this process is complete, the aircraft can be photographed and goes into "Final Delivery". We are about two weeks away from the "Final Delivery" phase and I cannot wait to go home!!!

Just for grins, those who know me really well.... know that I am terrified of bad weather. I took this photo of the radar in our cockpit after feeling several strong "bumps". We are headed straight into a bit of bad weather. : ( I HATE this part of my job : (

WHY OH WHY AM I STILL HERE?

Instead of enjoying the first days of Fall at the lake, I am STILL here in San Antonio, TX : (
My family (meaning well) keep sending me photos like the ones below to "cheer me up" : (
Looking at the calendar, it looks as though I will once again, miss my little niece's birthday : (
I am sooooooo ready for this danged airplane to be finished so I can go home...where I belong : )
